We were warned, but many of us had hoped we would not be facing this second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic as we entered 2021. The worse thing is that due to the new strain it is taking an even heavier toll than the first – however, there is some hope on the horizon and being the eternal optimists that we are, we believe 2021 will be quite positive – and a far better year than 2020.
Solid solutions
The difference this time is that we are far better prepared, and the ingenuity and survival instincts of man have once again won over in the form of an incredibly rapidly produced vaccine, which will hopefully finally put an end to this scourge.
Already the case numbers are coming down and with the vaccine being rolled out soon, we can expect a return to normality – so, 2021, as opposed to the very destructive and restrictive 2020, promises to be a year of rebuilding, revival and renovations.
Rebuilding
This is not a word that builders like to use, and fortunately, with our construction expertise and experience, we have never had to do it, but in this context, it is not about rebuilding structures but rebuilding our lives and our businesses.
Many have had to restructure the way they operate and that means finding solutions to challenges they may not have previously faced. All we can say to that is set good goals that adapt to the circumstance in which you find yourself. Don’t ignore the way the world is changing, but rather be a part of the change and you’ll find that rebuilding may even be a very positive exercise.
Revival
Revival is about looking back to the beginning of 2020 when this whole unexpected turn of events began. Were their certain goals you had set then? Maybe you had been planning to build a new home or offices or add on an extension to your property that would enhance its value.
Revisit these goals and plans now and put them back into action. Don’t let setbacks be failures that stopped you in your tracks – even if they did – it’s time to pick up where you left off, not just dump all previous goals as abandoned dreams.
Renovations
In a previous article, we spoke about ‘renovations for repurposing will be a major trend for 2021’ and we still firmly believe this to be true. Larger companies downsizing office space, and homeowners expanding their homes to include office space, will be very much in demand in 2021.
The early bird…
Please don’t leave your decision to renovate too long as one must remember that experienced construction companies like Davel and Lottering Construction, who are expert renovators too, will have their plates full tending to this demand.
We would love to be able to help you and assure you all the advice and expert service that we always provide, but suggest that you contact us sooner rather than later, to ensure that 2021, no matter what challenges it poses, will be a year of rebuilding, revival and great renovations!
